Choosing a challenge

Sprint, Classic, Ascend or Edge: how the four challenges differ

All four VFUNDED challenges run on the same Challenge Rules and the same Match-Trader platform, with the same 30% consistency rule. Every evaluation phase needs at least four Trading Days, and every funded reward period at least five, or ten on Edge. What changes is how many phases you trade, how tight the limits are along the way, and the reward split at the end. This page puts every difference side by side.

The trade-offs, route by route

Sprint: one phase, tighter limits

One target of 10% and you are through. In exchange, the evaluation has the tightest static floor of the three phased challenges, 6%, a 4% daily limit and the lowest leverage. It suits a trader who wants a single test and sizes conservatively anyway. Once funded, the maximum drawdown widens to 10%.

Classic: two phases, room to breathe

8% and then 5%, with 5% daily and 10% static in both phases and 1:100 leverage on forex. The targets add up to more than Sprint's, but each phase is more forgiving. It is the familiar two-step format.

Ascend: the lowest entry price, the highest split

Three phases of 5% each, the lowest fee at every size and the highest reward split, 90%. The limits tighten after phase one: 4% daily and 8% maximum in phases two and three. The funded account then has the widest daily limit of the four, 6%. It asks for the most patience.

Edge: no evaluation, a trailing floor

A simulated funded account from the first trade, with no targets to hit first. The price is higher, the daily limit is 3%, and the maximum drawdown is a 5% trailing floor that follows your highest equity, open profit included. How that floor behaves is explained in static vs trailing drawdown.

Questions worth asking yourself

  • How do you handle open profit? If you let winners run and give some back, a static floor is kinder than a trailing one.
  • How large are your losing days? A 4% or 3% daily limit leaves less room for a bad day than 5%. See how the daily drawdown limit works.
  • How many phases do you want to sit through? No phase has a time limit, but more phases means more days trading under evaluation rules.
  • Do you trade gold or indices at size? Leverage differs a lot between routes.

The phase parameters are in sections 3.3 and 4.4 of the Challenge Rules, and the reward split in section 7 of the Performance Reward Policy.

This article explains the published VFUNDED rules with worked examples. It is not financial advice. VFUNDED provides simulated trading evaluations: trading activity is simulated and performance rewards are not guaranteed. Where this article and the Challenge Rules differ, the Challenge Rules apply.
